Volunteer And Visit A Remote Destination On Your Next Trip

Back in the 90’s, a new organization, Cross-Cultural Solutions (CSS), was formed to foster volunteerism in remote parts of the world. There have been many people associated with CSS since their founding and been on fullfilling trips. The basic idea is increasing to combine community service with seeing the world. You can even arrange your own vacation through Expedia, Travelocity or Cheap Carribean and a top charity like the Red Cross.

You can find many organizations that are operating who can work out a volunteer plan for you where you can have an exotic vacation and indulging your self in some volunteering to help the people. They give you travel options to choose from along with a variety of work and the amount of time that you will be required to spend at a particular location. The fields of most common interest of volunteers are health care and teaching reading/writing.

Most of the volunteers seem to be interested in traveling to poor places rather then their usual travel destinations. Volunteers isn’t just for students but also for professionals. They can take their families with them as they and as they are more stable financially they can also help them out financially when they volunteer. There are many companies operating to arrange these trips, they can now even arrange your desired activities for you like teaching your native language in some remote country for example in Korea or can opt to coach football in some country. Some organizations have also sent volunteers to El Salvador to help rebuild from the recent disaster. We have also seen many professional people working in Venezuela as professional graphic designers.

The choices are amazing for volunteer travelers. There are programs available today, which can make your volunteer adventure low cost or maybe even free. Plan a trip with the Red Cross, Unicef or Unitd Way and find a great deal with Orbitz Coupons. Do you want to do some good? Work in a far off land where it will really be appreciated.

Vintage Video Games – Never Die

It defies logic really that in this day and age retro video games can still hold appeal, even the generation that was brought up with Commodore 64 games and various Amiga, Atari & Armstrad games now use today super powerful consoles. So why do Vintage Video Games still have such mass market appeal?

The type of games and systems that make us feel nostalgic vary from person to person, however amongst the aforementioned systems there was of course the Nintendo NES, SNES and Gamecube, The SEGA Master System, Mega Drive & Dreamcast as well as hand held consoles, but the games with the biggest following hail from the 80’s. The biggest players in those days were the large range of Amiga Consoles and it was for these that many of the best remembered classic arcade games were initially produced for.

The games themselves are archiac in comparison to Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii games of this generation. The gameplay was simpler generally and the graphics could not begin to match todays games. Take the game Kick Off 2 for instance, an Amiga soccer game, The pitch is giant, all graphics are from overhead and the game moves at an incredible pace, compare that to someting like Fifa World Cup on any new sytems and there is simply no competition, or so you would think. Anyone trying out Amiga games today whether they are originals played on the console or remakes for the PC will find themselves up very late at night playing these graphically inferior games till either their head explodes or they go blind. Hours and Hpours slip by playing these wonderfully addictive games that keep you hooked in a way that many of todays platforms and games fail to achieve.

Same question again, why do Vintage Video Games still have such mass market appeal?

Answer. Simple gameplay, engaging characters, loads of fun, simple objectives and the most important factor……They never took themselves too seriously.

RNs Can Advance Their Career

Many RNs go into management, but usually they first have to hold a BSN (bachelors of science degree in nursing). Since many nurses start their career by completing an associates degree in nursing or a diploma program many end up choosing from several rn to bsn programs to help advance their career.

When an average person thinks about nursing careers they may think about a registered nurse in a hospital assisting a patient or the nurse they see on a regular doctors visits. But that is not all registered nurses can do in their career.

Today it is very common for RNs who hold an associates degree to return to school to earn an advanced degree in order to advance their career. Once they have completed that degree they may have a better chance of entering the management side of nursing.

Besides management RNs have other career choices beside the traditional registered nursing career. Many decide to enter the world of legal nursing.

Legal nursing consulting is a popular career choice for many RNs who may want to be more independent and have their own clients. They generally use their medical knowledge and learn the legal side of things to bridge the gap in legal/medical cases.

Another career field that may be considered somewhat popular among RNs is that of a case manager. Case management positions are in demand so it is somewhat common to hear about people going back to school in order to get trained to become a case manager.
