Marketing your small business is often overlooked. Assuming you have a product or service your are confident in, your marketing strategy should be your main focus until the business takes off.  This short article will discuss the simple steps needed to market your business while saving you time and money.

The first step is to create a brand and logo. The goal is to create a visual representation of your service or product that people will remember after the first time they see it.  I highly recomend hiring a professional.  Graphic designers in Colorado are usually hungry for work and very talented. Next, I would take the finished logo design and use it to create an attractive marketing brochure or product catalog. Many times the Graphic Design team will offer packages that include the logo design and printed material design.

Once you have these two pieces of marketing materials, you should invest in a good solid informational website.  To keep costs down I would stick to a simple website that gives users the information they will need.  If you want to spend money on the website, save it for the internet marketing.

There are many ways to market on the internet and this is a whole discussion in itself.  At first I would take advantage of some of the free resources like Google Local Business directory so people in your local area can find your location.  The power of the search engines is great if you take some time to invest in it.
