The Childrens Digital Camera for Creative Souls
There was a time when all I got for Xmas or my birthday was a football or a toy racing car. Nowadays, children are spoiled with all sorts of gadgets, games and even more recently I've seen one of my young nieces with a children's digital camera.
Hang on a minute now! A digital camera for children? Obviously the manufacturers saw an opportunity in the market. So what was it then? The stores were constantly getting scores of children walking in and asking if they had a digital camera. I think not!
To me they are just another one of those 'throwaway' toys that are just seen as a gimmick and would only last a week after being given to your little boy or girl.
Well, I must admit that after seeing nephew playing with his, after 6 months, I was very surprised so I looked into things a little more.
It seems that a children's digital camera can help with a child's development. Apparently it makes them a lot more creative, which helps to enhance their senses and keeps their brain cells active.
My young niece is never seen without the beloved digital camera and although only 8 years old seems to be keeping it in good shape. Apparently the camera, a vTech digital camera, is made from impact resistant moulding, which helps when it's dropped. And it is also waterproof so even if he uses it when playing in the rain... yes he even takes it into the bath with him.. it will still work.
It looks like these latest child proof cameras are catching on and the makers are already designing them to be more reliable after feedback from the growing list of child users.
Although there are many more ways which can still help with the development of a child. I have to admit that a digital camera can help a child gain some valuable insight into a subject which could come in useful as they grow older.
Plus it can also teach them to appreciate in more detail all the things around them that are taken for granted.
